KMS Sponsors Lab Room, Computers and Specialized Training Courses to Support Underprivileged Students in Central Vietnam
Danang, Vietnam [October 10, 2018] – Representatives of KMS Technology, a provider of offshore product development and software testing for the US market, recently visited Passerelles numériques Vietnam (PNV) and officially announced its long-term partnership in supporting their Information Technology program to support underprivileged students in the Central provinces. The initial sponsorship totaled 200 million VND ($8.5K USD), alongside an offering of IT devices, equipment and specialized training courses.
PNV is a non-profit organization in Danang with nearly 300 students who come from disadvantaged families of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Kontum, Binh Dinh and other Central provinces. The students have been selected and trained, with 98% of them gaining employment after graduating.
The co-operation between the organizations include periodic facility funding, computers and R&D equipment, and vocational and skills training courses. Additionally, KMS Technology is committed to providing internship opportunities, with living expenses covered for PNV students to experience a real-world working environment in its HCMC offices.
During this first phase, KMS Technology has donated a lab room with 50 computers and several scholarships to third-year students. During the trip, representatives from KMS held several professional tutoring sessions on software design, testing and career orientation workshops to help the students get a better understanding of different career paths in the IT industry. Other activities, such as decorating classrooms and networking sessions, helped the students practice English as well as other soft skills.

“Passerelles numériques (PN) is a French NGO, established in 2005 and operating in 3 Asian countries: Cambodia, the Philippines and Vietnam. Passerelles numériques enables young underprivileged people to build their employability through education in the digital industry. After 15 years of operation, more than 2000 students have graduated from 03 centers of PN.
Launched in 2010 in Danang, Vietnam, Passerelles numériques Vietnam (PN Vietnam) offers an IT training program. Each year, from January to August, PN Vietnam’s selection team covers 7 provinces in Central Vietnam, collaborating with high schools and Study Promotion Associations to go through a rigorous process to select talented and motivated underprivileged youths. Up to now, PN Vietnam has 258 graduates and 130 students studying the program.”
