KMS Technology Donates Computer Lab to PNV to Support Students Through Technology
KMS Technology donated a computer lab to PNV, wrapping up the 5-year journey of supporting over 300 disadvantaged students in Central Vietnam escaping poverty through technology.
April 2023 marked the 5-year journey of collaboration between KMS Technology and Passerelles numériques Vietnam (PNV) – a non-profit organization that has supported over 300 underprivileged students in Central Vietnam to escape poverty through IT education. To celebrate this milestone, KMS donated PNV with a lab room named “The Growth Hub” and 25 laptops, aiming to improve the learning conditions for the students.
DONATING THE COMPUTER LAB “THE GROWTH HUB”
KMS Technology has always believed in the philosophy of developing business alongside giving back to the community. Since 2018, KMS and PNV have partnered via various forms of support, with the ultimate goal of equipping the students with a solid foundation to confidently embark on their IT career journey, leveraging KMS’s strengths, knowledge and professional experience gained from working with major clients around the world.
On the occasion of the 5-year partnership, KMS donated to PNV a lab called “The Growth Hub” along with 25 laptops with an estimated total value of 100,000,000 VND. With a youthful design style, the lab has a new, eye-catching, and inspiring creative appearance, creating the best learning environment for students. Ms. Vo Hoang Thuy Trang – Country Director of PNV shared “This is a very surprising gift from KMS at this special time. The room becomes brighter, livelier, which is something that PNV has longed for but has not had the opportunity to do so.”
The lab is expected to be a place where students can study, practice, and borrow laptops to complete their assignments and projects after classes, which is something they have longed for.
THE 5-YEAR JOURNEY OF KMS & PNV
With the shared mission of “creating long-term and sustainable impacts for the community,” KMS and PNV have been working alongside each other throughout the 5-year journey, marked by impressive figures: $35,000 financial support, over 1000 hours of sharing, training of professional and soft skills, internship opportunities for 22 students, 60 computers, 25 laptops, 2 lab rooms, and other necessary equipment, along with countless exchange events, collaborations, and office visits between PNV students and KMS staff. And above all, it is the enthusiastic spirit of actively contributing to the community, from the company, the leadership team, to every KMSer.
Nguyen Thi Thuyen Quyen (Senior Test Engineer – KMS Technology), who grew up with the 5-year KMS – PNV journey, expressed: “If I had not met KMS & PNV, my life would have been very difficult and struggling. After 5 years, I am proud that I have become stronger, more independent, and solid support for my family to escape poverty.”
According to data from PNV, the average income of students in the first 3 years after graduation is $400, $620, and $730 respectively. PNV not only gives students the key to confidently open up a better future, but also builds a platform to help them become the main source of economic support for their families to escape poverty. This is also something that KMS always strives for and is proud to have played a significant part in the journey of not only Quyen but also more than 300 other students over the past 5 years.
The 5-year partnership journey between KMS and PNV with remarkable achievements has opened up a hopeful future with many meaningful projects and even more brilliant successes in the upcoming journey, as shared by Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu – General Manager of KMS Da Nang: “The philosophy of contributing to the community is a continuous journey from the early days of KMS, and it will be maintained and carried on in the pathway of developing business as well as people in the coming years.”
